A Network of Christians Around the Marine Corps—
The mission of Tun Tavern Fellowship is to help fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples within the context of the Marine Corps in order to glorify God by encouraging and equipping Marines of all ranks to obey God and love others through Biblical fellowship and training.

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
– Acts 2:42
Why the Name Tun Tavern Fellowship?
The historic Tun Tavern in Philadelphia is best remembered as the “birthplace” of the United States Marine Corps. The word “Tun” originates in Old English meaning a large cask or barrel used for storing liquids, especially beer or wine. For nearly a hundred years from 1693 to 1781, Tun Tavern served residents and visitors of Philadelphia near the Delaware River waterfront with food, spirits, and sociability.
If we “replace” the beer of the original Tun Tavern with the Holy Spirit, then we have Marines gathering around the Word of God for teaching, fellowship, food and prayer = Tun Tavern Fellowship.
With a classic appreciation for the whole man concept, we know a spiritually “fit” Marine will be a more effective and resilient warrior.

3 Annual Conferences
While the primary focus of TTF is on weekly bible studies and discipleship groups and NOT conferences, we have seen the benefit of periodically gathering Marines and chaplains in regional areas at least 3 times a year for the purposes of:
